Club Night Recap: Architecture with Ulana Switucha
Our October 27 Club Night was all about architecture photography — exploring how lines, form, and light come together to tell stories about the built world around us.
We were thrilled to welcome Ulana Switucha, our guest judge and internationally recognized photographer, who opened the evening by sharing insights from her award-winning work.

Ulana Switutcha: Capturing Architecture with Meaning
Ulana began her presentation by showcasing the photo series that earned her the Sony World Photography Award in the Architecture category — a striking study of Tokyo’s public toilets.
This beautifully crafted series documents a visionary city project that brought together 16 architects and designers to reimagine 17 public restrooms across Tokyo.
Each frame revealed how architectural design can transform even the most ordinary urban spaces into artful experiences.
In the second part of her talk, Ulana introduced her upcoming book Torii, set to be released in November 2025, a personal exploration of Japanese culture and minimalism through architectural motifs and landscapes.
⚡ Flash Interview: 7 Quick Questions with Ulana
To wrap up her presentation, Ulana joined our new “7 Questions” segment — a fast-paced Q&A giving us a peek into her creative process and personality.
