Club Night: Photo Series

The final theme of this year’s Cathay Camera Club competition, as tradition dictates, is “Photo Series.” This invites members to exhibit their most compelling work through a set of interconnected photographs that together form a cohesive narrative or visual exploration.

Creating a photo series provides an excellent opportunity for our members to demonstrate their ability to develop and present a unified concept. A photo series comprises a sequence of three or more images that share a common theme and are edited with consistent stylistic choices.

We are delighted to announce that our guest judges for this month are Sarah Greene, curator of Blue Lotus Gallery, Hong Kong’s leading contemporary photography space; and Catherine Phillips, editor at CNN Digital. With her deep curatorial insight and passion for storytelling through images, Sarah brings a discerning perspective that will no doubt inspire and challenge our members.

This year’s “Photo Series” theme encourages photographers to refine not only their technical expertise but also their capacity for visual storytelling and thematic consistency. By adhering to these principles, participants can create a compelling, sophisticated body of work worthy of distinguished recognition within the club.
