Best of exhibition 2022 “Light Catchers – 40 years of creating images”

 

Cathay Camera Club celebrated its 40th anniversary with a celebratory “Light Catchers” annual exhibition at Hong Kong Cultural Centre. 

A big thank you to this year’s 24 participating artists – stunning works as always!

Also thank you to all who attended and celebrated with us! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

The votes have been counted (a whooping 500+ viewers) and the results are, in reverse order…..

In third place was Mary Dimitropoulou’s image  “Basket Case” with a total of 43 votes

In second place was Divya Umesh’s image  “Portrait” with a total of 53 votes

And in first place  Ayesha Curate’s  image “Mongolian horseback rider”  with a total of 96 votes

Exhibition Summary Oct 2020

Cathay Camera Club hosted  its annual photographic exhibition in Hong Kong Cultural Centre, during which, members showed their work to the public.

For the year 2020, Club members  presented  their images on the theme of “MY HONG KONG – A personal perspective”.

Exhibited photographs  included  examples of portraiture, landscape, street photography in both color and black & white formats.

All three days of the exhibition were very busy with a few thousands of visitors. It was lovely for the members to be able to share their work with their friends and family, and we were all happy to welcome some of our past Guest Judges –  Robert Ferguson, founder of “Wild creatures Hong Kong” being one of them.

Public vote: At the end of the exhibition, all votes were counted by the committee.

This year the exhibition had a whopping number of visitors and voters – more than 600 people voted for the club’s photos!

The top-5 as voted from the public is as per below:

Best of exhibition 2019

Our annual exhibition at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre is over. 26 Members exhibited a wonderful selection of images on the theme of “Simply Hong Kong”. As usual we asked members of the public who visited the exhibition to vote for their favourite images. The votes have been counted and the results are, in reverse order…..

In third place was Brandon Yoon’s image “Respect” with a total of 33 votes

In second place was Leonid Kazanskiy’s “February Sky” with a total of 51 votes

An in first place Olga Mihova’s image “Trapped” (shown above) with a total of 84 votes

Movember Men Exhibition.

Cathay Camera Club is delighted to be teaming up with Operetta and Movember Foundation Hong Kong in support of men’s health awareness. From the 18th until the 25th of November, Operetta will host a photography exhibition titled “Movember men”, with 40 images from Club members available for sale to the public. A charity sale and lucky draw will take place on the 25th of November. Proceeds will go to Movember Foundation Hong Kong, an international organization addressing men’s health issues.

Exhibited photographs will include examples of studio and environmental portraits and street photography in black & white format, all relevant to “Movember” theme. Visitors are welcome to come to the exhibition in support of a great cause.
